My Rubber Room

Since I haven't had the time to be all that creative this month, I thought I'd share a couple of photos of my Rubber Room (where all the Antics take place).  It generally does not look this neat!   I have to say that I'm somewhat organized (in my own way), but there are lots of areas that I need to work on.  The problem that I've found in re-organizing, is that when I'm done - I can no longer find everything that I THOUGHT was in a place that would be obvious to me LOL.  Oh well - that's why we keep re-organizing all the time.  AND find things after the fact that we just KNOW are there somewhere!
Does that mean I have too much stuff?   Probably, but I don't believe there's any such thing as too much stuff!  As my sister says, the fun is in the collecting!

You'll see that I've "acquired" a Cuttlebug, a Big Shot and a Grand Caliber.  I find that I use them all for various things and reasons.  The black Iris carts on the right are filled with all my wood mounted stamps.    The black cart sitting on top of the white cart holds my embossing powders & glitters.   I try to have the things I use all the time handy to me.

The larger white carts with the deeper draws hold my Sparkle N Sprinkle unmounted sets!   The trays on the table hold all the newest Sparkle N Sprinkle embossing powders, glitters & flocking!!!
I keep all my "scraps" in clear shoe boxes on the bookcase - I find I use them more that way.   My 12 x 12 cardstock & paper is located in the white Iris carts to the left.  Of course, there's more in other locations too LOL.   As I said - I'm somewhat organized.   $$$ prevent me from being in the Rubber Room of my dreams :)  Right now - the floor  (and my trusty aero bed) make up my guest bedroom with all the other things as "decor".

My desk is filled with all my "go to" items, including my trusty Copic markers!   Under the desk are more Iris carts - the left one is filled with various ink pads.

Hope you enjoyed the little view of the Rubber Room!

Magic Card

Quite some time ago, Jill did a video for Sparkle N Sprinkle  showing how to do a Magic Card.  It's from Dec. 2009 so you'll have to scroll down a bit.   I thought it was time to dust off my notes and try one.   It's quite a fun little card and not too difficult.
I decided to copy another card that Jill had done, as it was just too cute, using Stamp Set 360 - Pigs on Parade from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  Hope you like it.

This is what it looks like from the outside.  I used a small die cut to make the flower.  First I cut a piece of Super Adhesive Sheet and attached it to a piece of white cardstock for support.  I then used the die cut, removed the protective covering from the top side, attached a metallic disc and then covered the rest with Dazzling Rose glitter.

If you pull on the top tab, VOILA the magic happens and it looks like this!

Check out the video to see how it happens!   There's also a video on Splitcoast Stampers that shows a different way to make the base card.  The end result is the same, but this appeared a little easier to me.
If you check out my tabs on the top, I've added a little tutorial on how I created this one :)

Hope you enjoyed my little bit of magic.

Feb 9-10 Sparkle N Sprinkle Spring Fling Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Spring Fling Blog Hop!

If you hopped here by way of Amanda Reed's blog, then you are in the right place. Otherwise, you might like starting from the beginning to become eligible for five great prizes.
Go to: www.sparklensprinkle.com/blog to go back to the beginning.

You must leave a comment on each and every blog to be eligible for the prizes. Three of the designers have a prize attached to their blog! Don't miss out.....

With so many options, I really had a hard time deciding what to do for this hop. I finally settled on Becca from Set 413 - Daddy's Princess. To continue with the "spring" theme, I then decided on the Swirl Umbrella, the Raindrops and Hope is... from Set 425 - Spring Swirl. What's more fun than a child playing in the rain in the spring and picking flowers. I used my Copics to color and Sparkle N Sprinkle glitters to highlight. The umbrella and greeting were embossed with Madagascar Green embossing powder. Lace, flowers & pearls added to the "bling".

CHA Part I

Now that I have myself a "little" bit organized, I thought I'd share a few things from CHA.  I'll do a Part II for all the rest.  I attended as part of the Sparkle N Sprinkle Team, along with my sister, Lynn and my friend, June and we had a blast.  Met up with Margaret & Donna for a few minutes of face time before we all went off in our different directions.    I'm just sorry that we only had two days and not three, but it was not in the cards this year.  As much as we saw, I'm sure there's much that we missed and many make n takes that we didn't have time to do.  The weather was awesome too!

My sister, Lynn surprised June & I with a Smash Book Album for the show.  We used it for autographs and notes and finished it off (actually mine's not quite finished yet) on Monday night adding all our make n take items and various other things.  We worked on it until about 1:30am!  I'll have photos of my book in a later post.

I have to say that my favorite booth display had to be Graphics 45.  What a fabulous booth they had - complete with vintage costumes for their staff!  Here's glimpse:

Naturally, we had to stop at Spellbinders and chat with Stacy for a bit and for a lot longer to drool over their gorgeous samples!!!  They weren't allowing photos this year, but many of the samples can be seen on the blogs of their design team members - so check it out!  They were giving out t-shirts to wear on the first day and had roving people on the floor looking for people wearing them.  In the two days - we each won a spellbinder die!!!  How awesome is that!   They rock!

May Arts Ribbons - need I say more???   Simply gorgeous!  I want them all.

Watched Wendy Vecchi do her thing at Ranger - followed by Tim Holtz.... They both signed our Smash Book Album. Tim's got a new Stamp 2 Cut machine (along the lines of Cricut, Pazzles, etc.) and a line of new stamps to go with it.   New watercolor markers out in the Adirondak colors and there's a Sno Cap ink pad that I require LOL.   Not to mention various other things....   Wendy had a book signing later over at Stamper's Anonymous - so we each scored her new book with an autograph and got to say hi to Ted Cutts.

Here's a couple of glimpses of the Stamper's Anonymous booth.  Lots of fun retro things!

Magnolia has a lot of new images and their booth was filled with their gorgeous samples.  They even gave us each a free Magnolia stamp!   Here's a little sample.

Scor-Pal was demoing their No Shim mat along with their light-weight bottle caps and epoxy bubbles to stick on them and how easy to run them thru the Cuttlebug or Big Shot.  They also have a die cut that fits the centers of the bottle caps perfectly.  Those 1" dies are just a teensy bit too small.

Wound up at a table with Suze Wineberg when we stopped for lunch on day two.  Spoke with her for a moment and got her autograph.  Hadn't seen her around in a while.  She's kind of retired, but still very much interested in what's happening in the crafting world.

On the first day, we noticed a lot of people with big floppy hats with flowers running around and finally inquired where they came from.  It was Prima - so we hopped on over there to find out they only gave out 50 a day first thing in the morning.  Needless to say - we were in line to get in early the next morning and scored our big floppy hats.  Same deal - wear the hat and maybe win a prize.  Later in the afternoon, I finally had to take it off - my head was hot and we kept banging into each other LOL.  Not two seconds after I took off my hat, someone from Prima tapped June on the shoulder and she won a prize!!!   They're mailing it to her - will tell you what it is when it arrives.  Here we are in all our loveliness in floppy hats LOL.  Yes - there are still tags on - they wanted them left on for some reason.
Notice that we're all wearing our Spellbinder t-shirts too !
Here are photos back in the hotel room where you can see them with the flower on it.  They actually gave us each a little bag of stuff to decorate the hats with, but had to beg some glue at one of the booths to attach at least one.  The rest we used in our Smash Book.
 June & I

Lynn & I

There were so, so many companies with gorgeous papers and lots of fun embellishments too.  I think this is enough for one post - don't want to wear you out.   Stay tuned for CHA Part II.....
