GHOSTS & GOBLINS FALL FROLIC BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle
Ghosts & Goblins Fall Frolic
Blog Hop!!!

If you arrived here by way of Karalee Ingram's inspiring blog,
you're in the right place!!!
If not, you may want to start back at the beginning so that you
don't miss anything.   wwww.sparklensprinkle.com/blog

Did I mention prizes???   Five Fabulous Prizes will be awarded.
To win one, all you have to do is leave a comment on each and
every blog during the hop.  Three of those prizes are on an
individual blog - so miss that and miss out on a prize opportunity.

One of the things I miss living in Arizona are the beautiful fall
colors of the east coast.  I grew up in Maine and lived in New York
for many years and saw so much fabulous fall foliage.  Florida had a bit as
does Arizona, but I travel back from time to time to get my "fall fix".
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays too.
I love seeing all the children dress up in their costumes.

At any rate, I decided that I would do a Halloween card for my post.
I admit that I got a little carried away by my project this time, so there's only one.
I started with a normal card and the mojo just wasn't there.
Then I decided on an easel card, but decided that I had done that already
for a previous hop.  What's a girl to do!
I really liked my easel card idea - I saw a card that someone had done recently
(don't ask me where I saw it LOL) combining an easel card and a gate fold card.
GENIOUS!!!
So, without further ado, here's my take on the easel  card/gate fold combo
with many thanks to whomever it was that I got the idea from.

Here's the front of the card with it's "belly band" keeping it closed.
The cardstock was from the Recollections Midnight Magic Pack.
To create the (if I must say so myself LOL) gorgeous glittered band on the front,
I used a piece of black cardstock, ran a strip of Tear-ific 2 1/2" Tape down the center and then a strip of Tear-ific 1/4"Tape down each side of it.  I masked the center piece with a border punched out of the protective backing from my Super Adhesive Sheet  (used on the inside) see the
Glitter Masking Technique on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website to see how to mask
and three of the fabulous new micro-fine glitters fromSparkle N Sprinkle.  They're like velvet!!!
The belly band was just a strip of cardstock, embellished with a soft wide grosgrain ribbon attached with a black and rhinestone buckle
with a black pearl on top.

Here's a close-up of the glitters!  Don't they just make you drool???
AND - when they're rubbed into the tape - they don't come off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Open up the "gates" and inside you'll find Spooky Sally from  Stamp Set 470 - Candy Corn Halloween..  This is where I used the Super Adhesive Sheets.   See  the Stamping on Glitter (or flocking) Technique on the Sparkle N Sprinkle website.  I cut out a circle die cut using the Super Adhesive Sheets layered onto cardstock - covered it with Cloud Nine micro-fine glitter, then stamped the image with black Staz-on ink.  The image was then colored using my Copic Markers.

So - that was cute, but not enough!!!

Spooky Sally is actually on an easel card that opens up!
Got my greeting and
a space to write a little something
and NOW it's done.

Here's a little close-up of the greeting and those little spider stickers I found.

Here's a close-up of Spooky Sally stamped onto glitter.

Hope you had a ghoulish time checking out these techniques
 and my combo  card.

Enjoy the rest of the hop!!!

Next on your journey is  Shona Erlenborn who always comes up with
something fabulous for you!

Stamping on Glitter

Hi all
I just had a technique published in the Weekly Scrapper put out by Scrapbook Expo on Stamping on Glitter.  Diana had contacted Margaret at Sparkle N Sprinkle to see if she had anything set up on this technique - and voila! ....  we had been thinking about it, but hadn't gotten around to it yet.....
Here's the link...it's a fun project and works on flocking too...

We Remember

It's been a lot of years, but  the images are still imprinted in my mind.  I lived and worked in NYC for many years and it's still one of my favorite places.  We generally are back there 3-4 times a year visiting Vicki & Steve and our two grandsons, Charlie & Sam in Brooklyn.  We visited the 911 Memorial twice this year - once in the rain and once in the sun.  It's a beautiful, peaceful tribute to those who paid the ultimate.  It's smack in the middle of all that construction, yet still manages to be "quiet".   Much, much different than when we were there 3 months after the destruction.
Here are a few photos:

NEVER FORGET!

Must be a record - 3 in one week!

Okay - I'm on a roll now!  Three posts in one week - possibly a record for me.
Hopefully, I'll keep on track and keep this roll going.
Art Impressions has just cute and funky people and this image is just perfect for my community.  I live in a new active adult community (I swore I would never do that LOL)
and I LOVE IT!!!   I'm so busy I can't see straight half the time.
Lots of fun people and have made a ton of fabulous friends.
 I highly recommend it.
At any rate, I digress LOL...    Here's my card.

I used my trusty Copics to color, a little Sparkle N Sprinkle Sparkling Snow glitter for bling and some Crystal Effects on the fins, the inner tube and the "floaties".  Life here at Festival as I know it.

Enjoy life!!!

Black & White with a Pop of Pink

Here's my take on a beautiful card that my friend, June is doing a class on for our Paper Crafts group.  What a fun way to use those border/ribbon punches.  The panels are done with a Stampin' Up embossing folder.  I glammed it up a bit using Sparkle N Sprinkle's Black Ice glitter on 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and used a Spellbinder Blossom Die and a hot pink Shimmer Sheet for the flower and also dry embossed it with an embossing folder from Darice.  A couple of pearls, a magnet closure and voila!!!

Here's the inside of the card.  The greeting is from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Hope you enjoyed it!

I'm ba-a-a-a-ck :)

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while,
but have a few things set up for this week :)
I've been a little busy and out of town.
Spent almost two weeks in Brooklyn helping out
with new grandson, Sam and his big brother, Charlie.
Sam made his debut on Aug. 9th in record time.
Went directly from there to Chicago to work with Margaret at the
Sparkle N Sprinkle booth at the St. Charles Scrapbook Expo.
We were joined by Karla McPeak
who is the sister of one of the SNS Design Team members.
It was a fabulous show and we
had so much fun that Karla will be helping us
again in Kansas City in Oct.
Here are a couple of photos:
