A Year in Review

What a fun idea that Karin had to have a review of  your favorite cards from the past year.  Who would have thought it would be so hard to select only twelve!   You should have started the hop at Karin Martin's blog.   She's offering a $25 prize to a "crafty place".   Who couldn't use that!
This is a "linky" blog - so all blogs will be accessed from Karin's blog.   Can't wait to see all the fabulous cards!

To start off my "year" - here's a cute little Easter Card that I made using Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamp Set 426.  It's colored using my favorite Copic Markers and highlighted using Sparkle N Sprinkle glitter.  Wouldn't be a card without those handy dandy Spellbinder dies and my embossing folders.........

Next up.... Graduation time......    Using Sparkle N Sprinkle's Graduation Set 435 - my trusty Copic Markers & Spellbinder Dies I made this fun step card.

Caught a bug?   Need a cute get-well card???   Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamp Set 423 - Jars and Elmer from Stamp Set 156 - Bugs is just the ticket.  A little Copic coloring - a little masking, top it off with google eyes and it'll be a hit!

Thinking summer?   Here's a butterfly card that I made for my Paper Crafts Club project using Sparkle N Sprinkle's Stamp Set 437 - Fancy Butterflies.  The project was "using your scraps" and making a quilt background.  I have to say that hot pink & lime green always grab my attention.  Added texture using a fabulous Stampin' Up embossing folder - glittered it up with Sparkle N Sprinkle glitters and off I went!.

Here's another favorite summertime card using Sparkle N Sprinkle's Stamp Set 393 - Dani's Swing.  I just love the step- cards - and the images from this were just perfect for one.  What little girl wouldn't love this card for her birthday!

I made several "hat lady" cards this year - some general - some for Christmas (you can see the Christmas hat ladies in a previous post, but I think Vivian is my favorite.  It's so victorian - lacy - glittery - and fun.  She's from Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamp Set 164 - Vivian.  So much fun to color and so much texture.

Going into fall, I made this little pizza box filled with small note cards for a Cancer fundraiser.   It uses images from Sparkle N Sprinkle Set 407 and Princess Rose embossing powder.

What fun I had coloring this beautiful set of leaves from Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamp Set 441S - Fall Leaves.   I just kept adding more and more color with my Copics.  The brads were heated - dipped in clear embossing powder and then right into glitter for my very own color coordinated brad.

Going into the holidays and taking a bottle of wine with you as a hostess gift?  Stamp Sets 449 - Wine Tableau and Set 450S - Chianti from Sparkle N Sprinkle certainly help fit the bill.  They're perfect for creating a tag for the bottle and a card to match.  Here's a card I did that also uses a couple of the new Sparkle N Sprinkle Tuscan Embossing Powders.  I know you've already seen this one, but it's still one of my favorites for the year.

Lastly - girls just want to have fun!   AND - a great prelude to Sparkle N Sprinkle's Blog Hop on Jan 19-20th - Deco Divas - Love is in the Air.  I hope you come back for that one too!
This one features Stamp Set 419 - Heure de Party by Gail Burton and it's using my favorite hot pink and lime green colors with some black added in.......

I hope you've enjoyed my little trip down memory lane as much as I have.
Don't forget to head on back to Karin's blog to check out the rest of the "linky blogs".

A work in progress

Okay - so I thought making a few changes to give myself more functionality to my blog was going to be quick and easy LOL.  NOT.   So....please bear with me as I continue to make changes to this blog.  I really liked my template from before, but I was having some issues - so now I'm looking for a replacement.   You may see many changes in the next week or so, but eventually it will be done.
In the interim ......

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all.

Wine - Wine - Wine

At long last the two new wine sets designed by Rosalind Solomon for Sparkle N Sprinkle are available!   To go with them are 24 brand new embossing powder colors!   12 are Shades of Tuscany - beautiful, rich matte finish colors and to complement them are 12 Stars of Tuscany in the same beautiful shades - but glammed up with glitter.

Stamp Set 449 - Wine Tableau is a full-sized set and Stamp Set 450S - Chianti is a smaller Stampette.  Both are gorgeous!

Here's a sample from the Chianti Set using two of the new Tuscan embossing powders:  Moss Star EP430 & Mulberry Star EP427

I colored this using my Copic Markers and highighted using various Sparkle N Sprinkle glitters.  The background was randomly stamped using Versamark and the embossing powders and the grape leaves.  I used the Tear-ific tape to created a border on my border in the center and embossed it with the Moss Star Ep.  Add in my Spellbinder dies, my Grand Caliber, Dimensionals and "fussy cut" wine glass and grape leaves and voila!

Hope you like these sets as well as I do.
The new embossing powder colors are Fab-U-Lous!!!

Chillin'

I just love this little Whipper Snapper snowman.  He's not in my personal stash, but stamped him up at my sister, Lynn's because he was just so cute!   I colored him with Copic markers and did a 3-D with his hat, nose and the snow on the bucket and the sign.  I layered him using my oval and scalloped oval nesties and my grand caliber.  Who can possibly live without those anymore!   Highlights for the "snow" are done with Sparkle N Sprinkle Brushable glue and Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft.

Here's another adorable Whipper Snapper image from Lynn's stash!   It's great to have a sister that stamps and shares.....

This snowflakes from this one were embossed with Sparkle N Sprinkle's Silver Lightning embossing powder.  Coloring with Copic markers.

Lastly here's another non-traditional color Whipper Snapper image from Lynn's stash.

Once again, I used my Copics for coloring.  They have to be my all time favorite coloring medium!!!  Highlights were done with Waterfall and Sparkling Snow Glitters from Sparkle N Sprinkle and the ribbon was attached with Tear-ific Tape and the exposed edges covered with Waterscape glitter.  It's a little hard to see, but I over-sprayed the image with the new Goosebumps sparkly spray.  It's like having Crystal Effects or 3-D Crystal Lacquer in a spray bottle and gives a little texture.

You can find all the fabulous Sparkle N Sprinkle products here:

Now that I've posted these, it's got me in the mood to finish up the rest of my Christmas cards............  Hope they've inspired you too!

A New York State of Mind

So, I created this brand new blog and then left town!   Spent the last week in Brooklyn visiting with Vicki & Steve and our grandson, Charlie having our early Christmas.  What fun we had.  Charlie is just chatting up a storm now and really enjoyed playing with his new toys.  We took him to see Santa at the ABC Carpet store in Union Square (a fabulous vintage, Norman Rockwell Santa) - went to gym class and music class with him.  Saw the windows on 5th Ave. and the tree at Rockefeller Center.   Here's a photo of Charlie with Santa...  he wasn't thrilled this year and shed a few tears, but managed to say "bye bye Santa" thru those tears as he was leaving.
