Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle - Anything But A Card Blog Hop!!!

Hope you've enjoyed your hop so far - the design team has
some fun and interesting projects this month.
If you've hopped here by way of Marie Berquist,
then you're in the right spot.
If not, you may want to go back to the begining
(or check the list below) to make sure you haven't missed anyone.
PLUS - there are prizes hidden along the way....
you don't want to miss out on those....
To ensure that you qualify for those prizes along with
the other prizes available, be sure to leave a comment on each and every blog.

For my project this month, I decided to go with a Scrapbook Album.
It was our Paper Craft Club project this week - so
thought I'd kill two birds with one stone.   It took a while
to finish - so seemed to be a good idea.

I used a travel theme and included some photos from
England, France, Italy, Sicily, Greece and Turkey.
It also gave me the opportunity to show off several
different techniques along the way, including:
Faux Patina
Accenting with Glitter
Glitter Masking
and more........

The album uses "back to back book binding".
Full details on that can be found on Heidi Swapp's blog
and U-tube video

You may want to grab food & beverage for this one - I confess I went a little
berserk and it's kind of long LOL.....

Let's start off with the cover....

I used the Graphics 45 Travelogue Collection
DCWV - Tradewinds Collection
and
CM Wieland Printery Collection
and various other scraps from my scrap boxes.
A few metal brads from Stampin' UP and
embellished with Sparkle N Sprinkle glitter.

Additionally, I used the Faux Patina technique
on the decorative band for the flap.
Sparkle N Sprinkle's Antiquities Embossing Powder is perfect for that.
The Chevron Embossing Folder is Sizzix (Stampin" UP)

This is what you see when you first open the album.

I accented some of the elements from the cardstock with glitter and also added
a band of glitter (Florida Beach) utilizing 1/2" Tear-ific Tape.

Next up - the Eiffel Tower!

Using Antiquities Embossing Powder again, I used Bonjour from Stamp Set 326
and layered it onto a Spellbinder's Fancy Frames Tags Two Tag.
I used the Super Adhesive Sheets for this - laying it on cardstock first, then die
cutting it - slapped on the phrase and covered the
rest with Orchid Rose Velvet Glitter.

The Frame is layered on top of two bands of 3/4" Tear-ific Tape covered
in Black Suede Velvet Glitter and Florida Beach Glitter.

Since the Eiffel Tower photo has tulips in the foreground, it only
made sense to add the beautiful tulips from Stamp Set 491!
They're colored with Copics - highlighted with Orchid Rose and
Luau Green Velvet Glitters and fussy cut.

Big Ben and the Changing of the Guard -
Another Faux Patina embellishment on the crumpled manila tag.
The phrase was embossed onto the element from the Graphics 45 DP
and the word Travel was also embossed (both with Antiquities) and
layered onto another die cut - made the same way as the last one.

Here's a close-up  (The Travel tag is actually on the
 page beneath the London page).
The pages are varied in length.

The Appian Way and the Acquaduct....

Beautiful Taoramina, Sicily and the Blue Grotto at Capri...
Grapes & Wine - just a staple there.

I added a white (colored with Copics) Prima flower that's layered onto
an embellishment die cut from Super Adhesive Sheets and layered with
Mountain Mint Velvet Glitter....

The grapes and the wine glass from Stamp Set 449 were colored
with Copics and highlighted with Glitter and
the wine glass also has 3D Crystal Lacquer.

Venice - I thought the Asian Accents from Spellbinders (yes, I know LOL)
were perfect - like little waves.   I used a strip of the 2 1/2" Tear-ific Tape
and the Glittered Masking technique to create this fun border...  Two of the
new Velvet Glitter colors were perfect (Mountain Mint & Peruvian Lily)

Here's a close-up - the bottom layer was just designer paper.

The Grand Master Palace and one of the entrance gates to Rhodes is up next.

I highlighted the beautiful flowers at the Palace with
Orchid Rose Velvet Glitter right onto the photo.

The Trevi Fountain and the Coloseum in Rome (Roma)

Once again - here's the Antiquities Embossing Powder - I used the Sakura
Glue Pen to write my words on this one instead of an embossing pen - finer line.

Again, on the photo - I highlighted the waterfall at the fountain with
Sparkling Snow glitter.

On to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece and the Library at Ephesus, Turkey

I chose to embellish this page using, again the Glitter Masking
but using EmbossingPowder instead of Glitter!
A totally different, but fabulous look.
I used some of the flowers from Stamp Set 493 to finish off the page.
Embossing Powders used were Sangria and Copper Peddler.

One of my favorite places - Oia, Greece on the island of Santorini.

I used a vellum greeting from some little booklet I had - attached it to a manila
tag - spritzed it with Glimmer Mist and added a metal brad
and brown seam binding to finish off the page.

WHEW!!!
Bet you thought I'd never finish!!!
I hope, even though it was a long post, that you enjoyed my little
journey thru Europe & the Mediterranean....

Here's a list of all the designers on the hop.
